This position requires safety conscious individuals with a professional demeanor, positive attitude, and excellent communication skills.
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Apprentice, with oversight of the supervising AME, performs grooming, servicing, inspection, maintenance, and repair of aircraft and aeronautical products.
Duties include:
- Servicing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing rotary wing aircraft
- Keeping detailed records of work performed
- Consulting with aircrew
- Organizing and housekeeping of the hangar facility
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
This position does involve shift work including days, evenings, and weekends as well as an on-call rotation.
Work Environment:
Work is mostly conducted at our hangar facility in Southport Manitoba and includes ground handling and servicing of aircraft indoors and outdoors as required. Travel to support away from base operations is required when necessary.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or have completed a Transport Canada recognized basic training program or military equivalent
- Valid Canadian Driver's Licence
- Strong mechanical aptitude or previous mechanical experience
- Excellent listening and communication skills
- Be customer focused and work well in a team environment
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Southport, Manitoba area
- Previous rotary wing experience is an asset
Security Requirements
- Must be able to obtain Government of Canada Reliability Status security clearance
- Must be able to obtain access to controlled goods
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally
