HR duties include:
- Full cycle recruitment to meet the various staffing goals within the plant and office
- Develop and implement initiatives for recruiting diverse talent
- Develop and/or update job descriptions, job postings and advertisements
- Represent Canam Group at job fairs, special events and career days as requested
- Provide general HR support and advise internal customers in the interpretation and application of established policies, procedures, practices, Employment Standards, and the collective agreement;
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Training duties include:
- Develop, deliver and update internal training materials and sessions,
- Utilizing adult learning practices, to support the implementation of new and existing courses and programs.
- Consult with stakeholders to conduct needs assessments and shape solutions to achieve learning outcomes and desired behaviours, maximizing the value of formal training efforts or using alternative approaches when better suited.
- Lead collaboration efforts with subject matter experts and small work teams/ committees to compile inputs and develop training content, materials and scripts.
- Support employees and foster adoption of training solutions, within the Steel Manufacturing facility.
- Participate in the team' s continuous improvement processes.
- Maintain training certificates in accordance with company policies.
- Support the Health & Safety and Human Resources Managers, as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of applicable experience; with a combination of education (Degree or Certificate program in human resources, occupational health or safety, industrial hygiene, or other relevant field) and hands on knowledge in training content development, technical writing and communications.
- Proven organizational skills, high level of detail orientation, ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting deadlines.
- An analytical mind, with the ability to quickly acquire new knowledge and excellent information- seeking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to transform technical content in to visually engaging and audience focused training tools.
- Proficiency in working with e-Learning management systems and software, as well as the aptitude to learn and support new applications.
- Experience with ESL (English Second Language) training and coaching.
- Superior English verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.);
- French language skills would be considered an asset.
