The incumbent will be responsible for managing the development of our market-specific growth and optimization strategies. This position will look at ways in which our business should segment and analyze our markets to drive correlations, targets and strategic operating plans/actions across all of our Canadian regions.

The role will analyze competitor dynamics and developments, industry and economic trends, and territory dynamics, and provide recommendations and insights on strategic priorities, with the goal to drive market share capture and deepen our share of wallet. Using research, planning, and evaluation, you will have a thorough understanding of our total landscape. You will identify trends in the market, forecast patterns, research on our competitors, and formulate cohesive market strategies.

Role's Responsibilities:

  • Partner with regional and corporate leaders across the company to drive UAP's market and growth strategy, strategic growth initiatives and market analysis.
  • Manage the research, identification and development of content, strategic/business plans, and organize and lead strategic discussions across different divisions and regions related to market and growth strategy.
  • Develop, maintain and manage the company's market analysis and geospatial tools, software and data. Seek opportunities to improve market models and tools to drive deeper insights.
  • Develop and maintain business intelligence and knowledge of our competitors (including benchmarking), industry and market intelligence, and development of strategic initiatives and actions. This role will provide short and long-term strategic recommendations to leadership that are meant to develop and capitalize on business opportunities for growth.
  • Develop, assess and manage the market segmentation, prioritization and foundational analytics (e.g. market size/share, open markets, market composition). Collaborate and be a strategic partner with leaders and sales teams to ensure understanding and develop capabilities to assess to key elements related to their regions, territories and dissemination areas.
  • Manage and monitor the progress of market and growth initiatives, including partnering with internal teams on sales programs and initiatives, franchising, business development and mergers and acquisitions.

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Geoscience, Geospatial, Geo Marketing, Business, Data Science or a similar discipline; a higher level of education e.g. MBA, MSc (Preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in market strategy development and geospatial market analysis; previous experience in building complex geospatial market models, correlations and analyses leveraging advanced analytics tools.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbally and in writing, and bilingual in French and English, as you will be working with colleagues across Canada and the USA.
  • Experience working with Alteryx or other market mapping software (Required)
  • Business knowledge in the areas of automotive, distribution, supply chain/logistics, B2B and B2C (Asset).
