JOB DESCRIPTION
The Quality Specialist will drive the completion of the Quality inputs to procurement packages and negotiations. They will effectively monitor, manage and review vendor furnished information. They will create visualizations that highlight risks to the business while organizing the presentation of data to reflect results (e.g. trends and correlations) in a visually compelling way. A strong knowledge of various manufacturing processes is important to understand documentation accuracy and applicability. Numerically astute with strong problem-solving and data analysis skills and visual data management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Daily monitoring of procurement package status and open actions for the supplier quality team. Correspondence with the vendor and ISI stakeholders.
- Activate change requests to update procurement package quality requirements with the vendor.
- Negotiate quality requirements with the vendor.
- Management of schedule for quality vendor furnished information.
- Management of approval from ISI stakeholders for quality vendor furnished information.
- Review of vendor furnished information.
- Stakeholder in Contract kick off meetings with vendor.
- Quality point of contact with supply chain and supplier.
- Completion of submittal documentation via Windchill.
- Review of counterfeit notifications and initial investigation/risk analysis within ISI.
- Organize the presentation of data to reflect results (e.g., trends and correlations) in a visually compelling way to address critical business questions.
- Create and execute Continuous Improvement projects for the Supplier Quality Group.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post secondary education in relevant discipline.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, AS 9100 or equivalent Quality Management Systems.
- 5+ years of related experience in manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, oil and gas or ocean technology.
- Experience with QMS software is an asset.
- Strong sense of urgency to complete tasks.
- Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
