JOB DESCRIPTION
Midland Transport is currently seeking skilled and reliable Trailer Mechanics to join our Kensington/New Annan Garage. The ideal candidates hold a Red Seal certification and have experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining trailers.
Shift:
- Monday - Thursday 6:30am - 5:00pm
- Tuesday - Friday 6:30am - 5:00pm

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on trailers
- Complete routine maintenance and preventative service on trailers including brakes, suspensions and electrical
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards, regulations, and company policies
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, services, and repairs
- Assist in identifying required parts and supplies, and work with parts suppliers as needed
- Collaborate with team members and supervisor to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently
- Reporting nonconforming situations
- Other duties as assigned by the shop supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
- Red Seal Certification as a PEI Truck and Transport Mechanic preferred. Consideration will be given to interprovincial Red Seal Truck and Transport Mechanics who are willing to complete the PEI certification exam
- Two or more years of relevant, hands-on experience post-certification
- Solid understanding of air brake systems, air ride suspension and trailer ABS; experience with trucks or reefers is an asset
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
