JOB DESCRIPTION
The Valve / PSV Technician is involved in all aspects of service and repair of pressure relief device valves. This is an all-encompassing role including adherence to quality and safety processes and procedures, as well as servicing of valves and general shop/equipment maintenance activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Disassembly, inspection, reassembly, testing of new, repaired, or modified valves to engineering specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct pressure tests (hydro-static or gas (Nitrogen/air)), leak tests, and calibration of valves.
  • Mentorship of new team members will be required
  • Document all activities, including test results, repairs, and maintenance performed, quality Control to ensure all the paperwork and tags are correct and verifying against paperwork and computer system information.
  • Painting and tagging of valves prior to shipment as required.
  • Collaborate with engineers, Production Manager, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and successful project completion.
  • Reporting directly to the Branch Lead.
  • Travelling to work on-site to meet customer needs may be required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3 years valve repair (ANSI, API)
  • Instrumentation experience, Post Secondary School, and/or additional technical certifications or other related training is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience with valve repair/assembly
  • Proficient knowledge and expertise in valve inspection, maintenance, repair, and installation.
  • Desire to provide excellent customer service.
  • Must possess strong mechanical aptitude and background with emphasis on trouble shooting and problem solving.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents such as operating and maintenance procedures, manuals, engineered drawings, and other technical documents as required.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Physical ability to regularly lift, carrying, grasp, and handle material up to 10 pounds and occasionally required to lift/handle up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Basic computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Applications such as Outlook and Word)
