RESPONSIBILITIES
The Research Specialist is responsible for conceiving, developing and scaling of innovative absorbent hygiene relevant technologies. They collaborate closely with material suppliers and product developers to scope out and screen inventive opportunities. This is accomplished by hands on laboratory testing of new materials and product constructions to compare and contrast with in house and competitive benchmarks. Working closely and collaboratively with product developers, they support the scaling and investigation of these new technologies from benchtop to production on the manufacturing line.
- Conceive, test and analyze on a lab scale new innovations.
- Benchmark competitive products with 'real world' tests.
- Manage laboratory research space.
- Work with product developers to scale new technologies.
- Support freedom to operate and patent submission and SR&ED activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BSc. In Chemistry, or B.Eng. in Chemical Engineering.
- Masters in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. PhD in Chemistry considered an asset.
- Up to 3 years of experience in academic or industry research laboratory.
