JOB DESCRIPTION
You will help to oversee a team of maintenance professionals, ensuring that mechanical systems and machinery are well maintained, operating efficiently, and in compliance with safety standards. You will work alongside your colleagues troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, perform planned and un-planned maintenance, and ensuring that repairs and installations are completed to the highest standard.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities:
Ensure safe and efficient execution of mechanical plant maintenance activities.
• Coach, mentor, and lead other maintenance professionals in safe and quality work.
• Diagnose equipment failures and provide efficient solutions in a fast-paced environment.
• Report directly to the maintenance supervisor and act as a relief supervisor, as required.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections and repairs.
• Coordinate and delegate work to internal and external stakeholders during plant shut downs.
• Prepare job scopes including materials, documentation, work instructions, and cost estimates.
• Communicate professionally with other departments to ensure alignment with operational needs.
• Work in a manufacturing environment exposed to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications:
Education Required: Mechanical Technician or Industrial Mechanic/Millwright
Certified Red Seal Industrial Mechanic/Millwright
• 3+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Ability to work in a team environment that is committed to working safely.
• Experience in maintenance shutdowns and equipment installation considered an asset.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem solving is required.
• Must be willing to undertake diverse tasks and remain flexible in responsibilities.
• Strong organizational skills
