RESPONSIBILITIES
The Maintenance Supervisor will supervise the tradespeople and contractors assigned to their team in carrying out maintenance work. They will also oversee the inspections and repairs of their assigned equipment. The supervisor will regularly conduct inspections and checks to ensure the health of the equipment. They will ensure that their team meets safety objectives and complies with policies and procedures.
• Supervision of industrial mechanics and welders in an industrial environment
• Training and development of apprentices
• Planning and preparation of work orders
• Assistance with parts and inventory control, payroll, and the preparation and submission of daily and weekly reports
• A commitment to superior performance in a safe work environment
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required education:
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering of technical college
    • Red seal certification
  • Required years of experience:
    • 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in the sawmill industry
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including day and weekend shifts
  • Mechanical knowledge is essential
  • Good knowledge in Microsoft Office
  • Problem-solving skills, analytical and synthesis skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of an occupational health and safety program
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Autonomy, initiative, leadership, and a focus on quality work
  • Project management skills, including the ability to manager multiple tasks and priorities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a natural ability to influence others
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where tight deadlines are required
  • Be bilingual
  • Met JDI selection criteria
