JOB DESCRIPTION
The Training & Coaching Supervisor will play an integral role in supporting both apprentices, and the continuous development of the skilled trades in the work force. This will be achieved through training program development, facilitating employee training, record keeping, continuous learning initiatives, identifying employee's skill gaps and developing then implementing an action plan that aligns with the goals of the company. To refine skillset, agility, and keep up to date with production requirements up to 15% of this role may include Production Supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Apprentice skill development: Monitor and support the on-the-job skill development of our apprentices through mentoring, coaching and training in progression towards Red Seal certification
- Deliver and develop trade training
- Perform Supervisor responsibilities for team of skill coaches or trainees
- Support recruitment activities by participating in interviews/selection processes and supporting outreach interventions.
- Provide back up to production for supervisor absenteeism
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge - education, certificates, licenses, registration, and knowledge required
- Red Seal trade certificate or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite of programs
Technical Skills - required skills to apply knowledge
- Technically Familiar with industrial marine new construction & repair
Social Process Skills - required skills for effective working relationships
- Able to deliver presentations and public speaking
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, or coaching abilities
