JOB DESCRIPTION
The Loss Prevention Manager is responsible for overseeing the loss prevention program within the stores, including maintaining the security system, conducting surveillance, investigating theft and fraud, and enforcing safety and security protocols. The manager also plays a key role in training and coordinating the loss prevention team, working with law enforcement, and collaborating with management to raise awareness about loss prevention. The position requires strong leadership, communication, and investigative skills to prevent and address loss events effectively.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and maintain the store's security system and conduct surveillance of all areas, including perimeter checks
  • Monitor the premise for any theft or fraud using CCTV and ensuring surveillance equipment stays operational
  • Patrol building facilities and perimeters to ensure a safe business environment
  • Use loss prevention tools to investigate internal cases such as theft
  • Apprehend shoplifters and may be required to testify in court
  • Report violations to take corrective action
  • Enforce safety and security programs by monitoring everyday operations
  • Present tips at team meetings and associate orientation
  • Select and train loss prevention personnel
  • Partner with management to build extra loss prevention awareness
  • Coordinate investigations of loss events and work with local law enforcement.
  • Build and record cases to support findings and conclusions
  • Review reported loss events
  • Maintain records and reports of loss events
  • Modify the loss prevention plan to protect against repeat occurrences
  • Communicate with people of various ages and backgrounds such as operation leadership, summer students, customers, and law enforcement
  • Work with police and other legal entities after the investigation is finished
  • Interview employees during investigations
  • Partner with management to build extra loss prevention awareness
  • Greet customers while on the selling floor- provide GREAT Customer Service

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to work independently with high attention to detail and a sense of urgency
  • Ability to communicate with people of various ages and backgrounds such as summer students, customers, and law enforcement
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Class 5 Driver's License is required
  • Experience with surveillance is required
  • Inventory control experience
  • Knowledge of building supplies is an asset
  • Strong leadership and training skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work under pressure
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to loss prevention
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
