JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Operations Manager of Industrial Security Limited (ISL), the Security Site Manager will lead and oversee 24/7 security operations at the Irving Pulp & Paper loctions in Saint John, New Brunswick. This critical role involves managing a dynamic team of Security Officers stationed in various locations in Saint John and ensuring the safety and security of our facilities, employees and assets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
. The candidate's key responsibilities would include:

  • Day to day oversight of the 24x7 Security Operations at The Irving Pulp and Paper site to ensure protection of the Company's physical assets, properties, and resources
  • Providing leadership, direction, and training to Security Officers including resource allocation and performance management along with supporting recruitment initiatives and onboarding process for new team members
  • Management of access control security systems
  • Conducting regular site visits to assess security needs and ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Management of security policies and procedures (Standard Operating Procedures - SOP's) and identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Working closely with the Manager of the sites and the various operations teams within the facility
  • Acting as a liaison between clients, security team and management to address concerns and facilitate effective communication along with holding regular meetings the teams to update on possible risks and what corrective action is taking place while building and maintaining positive working relationships
  • Building and maintaining a network of information to proactively reduce risk to operations and maintaining relationships with local law enforcement and private sector counterparts to protect employees and assets
  • Coordination of security reporting system, and conduct security exercise drills and ongoing training
  • Ensuring Public Safety New Brunswick regulations are followed and adhered to through routine inspections
  • Assuming overall command of Industrial Security operations during a critical incident or major security event

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in security, emergency management, law enforcement field and the ability to support and motivate a 24/7 security operations team
  • Minimum of 5 -8 years of experience in a supervisory/management role with a proven track record in leading, managing and mentoring large, diverse teams
  • Strong knowledge of security systems, risk assessment, and emergency response planning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to respond to afterhours calls and emergencies as needed
  • Previous experience with training development and coaching
