JOB DESCRIPTION
The purpose of Corporate Development is to ensure that all J. D. Irving Moncton businesses are deploying capital to deliver sustainable, profitable growth aligned to long term strategy and governed by JDI's Core Values.
The Senior Analyst supports the Corporate Development team in identifying, evaluating, and project managing the execution of strategic growth opportunities for the J. D. Irving Moncton businesses. Opportunities would include green field investments, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), real estate, and other strategic initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare detailed financial analysis, including valuation models, pro forma financial statements, and sensitivity analysis
  • Develop strategic business cases and presentations for senior management and ownership
  • Conduct market research and industry analysis to identify potential growth opportunities, report on industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, both in corporate and within the business units, on the execution of M&A transactions including due diligence support and integration planning
  • Administration of the real estate system, process documentation, filing structure, etc.
  • Developing templates and processes on an ad-hoc basis

A Continuous Improvement mindset will be an asset, leveraging experience from each project to improve process for the next.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Finance or Accounting
  • Preferred experience:
    • 1 - 3 years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate development, private equity, or corporate finance
    • 5+ years of experience in accounting or FP&A role
  • Minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience in accounting, FP&A, or investment banking, corporate development, private equity, or finance
  • CPA, CFA would be considered an asset
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Capital IQ )
  • Demonstrated project management skills
