JOB DESCRIPTION
As Category Manager - Ecommerce you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the presentation of products on our online store, strategically curating product listings, categorizing items, and ensuring accurate product information to maximize sales and customer engagement by creating a visually appealing and user-friendly shopping experience on the website. In this role you will work cross functionally across multiple departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the data team to:
- Maintain accurate product listings with detailed descriptions, specifications, images, for the online store.
- Optimize product titles and descriptions for search engine visibility.
- Manage product variations (color, size, etc.) and ensure consistent presentation across the website.
- Manage product lifecycle from launching new products to end of life products.
Work with Category Managers to:
- Develop and maintain product category structures on the website, ensuring logical navigation and easy product discovery.
- Organize products into relevant categories and subcategories based on customer behavior and market trends.
- Select high-quality product images and ensure proper image optimization for fast loading times.
- Design and implement visually appealing landing pages on the website, including banners, featured product sections, and promotional placements.
- Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Develop Data Analysis and Reporting to:
- Generate reports on sales trends, customer behavior, and merchandising performance to inform decision-making.
- Monitor customer feedback and reviews to identify product issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Analyze customer data to understand buying patterns and tailor merchandising strategies accordingly.
You will also work closely with the E-commerce team to implement the above-mentioned strategies on the website
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Previous experience in category management, preferably in retail or product-focused industries, is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in using technology for efficient work processes.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
- Able to focus on the detail without losing sight of the big picture.
- Ability to plan, execute and handle multiple projects and priorities successfully.
