JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Breeding Operations Manager, the Research Summer Student will assist and work with the Plant Breeding and Research teams in developing new potato varieties; and researching best practices in field production of current and developing varieties.
Work Address - Cavendish Farms Research Centre 25533 RTE 2, New Annan, PEI.
Language of Work - English
Wage - $19.10
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage plants in the greenhouse including planting, watering, managing growth conditions and cleanup
• Organize and maintain accurate and timely test results, files and records
• Perform field experiments, including planting, maintenance, crop scouting, and soil and tissue sampling
• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current student in a Bachelor of Science degree in Plant Sciences, Agronomy, Agriculture or Crop & Weed Sciences.
• Ability and willingness to work outdoors in any weather, and do repetitive, physical work.
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Must be willing and able to work extended hours based on business needs
