JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Project Manager, Ship Repair - Project Delivery, will be primarily responsible for project management in-line with the four pillars of scope, schedule, cost and risk related to program related projects/initiatives. They will also contribute to developing, improving and validating Ship Repair plans, processes and policies needed to deliver repair projects of ~2M of production hours. They will be expected to interface with all internal and external stakeholders on ways to improve project delivery and work execution. They will execute goals and objectives within an annual operating plan.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage performance of the Ship Repair Program by leading regular stakeholder reviews (scope, cost, schedule, risk).
- Ensures customer expectations are aligned and executed and manage external communication and reporting at Director level or equivalent.
- Manages critical project communications.
- Accountable for Project Risk Management.
- Change Management: Interfaces with the enterprise to manage change that impacts the Ship Repair Program.
- Identify, develop, and implement a robust program governance structure.
- Accountable for the program execution of the Project Management Plan and Operating Plan.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related technical field or equivalent.
- MBA, MASc, or equivalent an asset.
- Formal Project Management Qualification (preferred).
- Program delivery knowledge regarding, Budget Management, Risk Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Change Management, Project Management, Reporting and Metrics.
- Strong understanding of shipbuilding and program management.
- 10+ years in shipbuilding or warship operations.
- Effective Communication: Both written and verbal with an ability to actively listen and adapt communication style to various audiences.
- Negotiation - Essential when dealing with multi-organizational programs.
- Cultural Competence - Being culturally sensitive and diverse.
- Adaptability - Ability to adapt to different working styles, personalities, and unexpected challenges.
- Feedback and Coaching - Able to provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members and peers.
