JOB DESCRIPTION
The Intermediate Project Controls Specialist will be a position that is an integral part of the Project Controls, Programs team with responsibility for assisting in the design, maintenance, surveillance, and compliance of the Earned Value of Management (EVM) systems. This position may include supporting EVM special projects such as the development and maintenance of program and financial Key Performance Indicators.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the development, maintenance, and reporting of program and financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Work with internal stakeholders to develop the processes and procedures needed to enable departmental interfaces to collect and maintain the data in support of maintaining program key performance indicators.
  • Work with the Principle Project Controls Specialist to develop the necessary database systems to retain the information for reporting on key performance indicators.
  • Produce EVM reports for various levels of management within the organization from supervisory level to executive leadership by communicating accurate and consistent messaging with the right amount of information at the right level of leadership.
  • Work with the Principle Project Controls Specialist to audit, troubleshoot, and validate EVM information at the workpack, control account, and program level.
  • Produce EVM reports for trend analysis of cost, schedule which may include ad-hoc reporting requests to support data analysis for various stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:
    • Post secondary education or equivalent experience in either a technical, commercial, accounting, or finance discipline.
    • Leadership training, and or lean six signa training is an asset.
    • Financial and/or accounting acumen is an asset.
    • PMP certificate is an asset but not required.
  • Experience
    • 3-5 years of experience in a construction or manufacturing environment, or equivalent experience.
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with large amounts of data and various enterprise resource planning systems, such as Ecosys, JD Edwards, Aveva, and Primavera P6, or similar applications such as Cobra, and SAP.
    • Strong skills in Microsoft products especially MS Excel and Sharepoint. The ability to set-up and operate MS Excel spreadsheets using formulas and graphs is a requirement. The ability to maneuver and operate within MS Sharepoint is a requirement.
    • Be able to demonstrate aspects of leadership and strong communication skills.
    • The ability to navigate various institutional needs in a dynamic environment.
