JOB DESCRIPTION
The Communications Specialist will work collaboratively within the Communications team and with internal customers to support the group of J.D. Irving companies based in Dieppe, NB.
The Communications Specialist plays a key role in supporting the business-to-business communications for senior executives and is part of a dynamic and collaborative team that helps shape the company's engagement with internal and external stakeholders. Ours is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that concurrently manages multiple files and pressing deadlines with complex content.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce first-class communication materials for internal and external events, employee communications and other key initiatives
  • Prepare professional PowerPoint presentations for a variety of audiences
  • Work collaboratively with sales and function leaders to develop materials for meetings, tours, and customer events that will showcase our unique value proposition
  • Work collaboratively with graphic designers to assist in the development of materials for publication
  • Create and finalize written products such as newsletters, brochures, news releases, speaking notes with tight deadlines
  • Identify, research, assess and create editorial content for internal use across the organization, reflecting the company's values, achievements and functions
  • Solid social media management skills, and an understanding of major platforms, providing social media support and producing internal digital displays (Moxies)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree in relevant discipline of public relations, journalism, or communications with minimum 4 years' experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook) with exceptional PowerPoint skills.
  • Superior communication skills in English (both verbal and written), fluency in French would be an asset.
  • Must have superior time-management skills with well-developed project management skills, the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time while meeting deadlines effectively, efficiently, and independently.
  • Ability to adapt and respond quickly to changing requirements and to work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across a wide range of teams.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and professional maturity.
  • Proven ability to think ahead, engage proactively, and take initiative.
  • Excellent team player who is committed, optimistic, enthusiastic, and creative.
