JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for overseeing material planning and inventory activities to ensure the efficient flow of materials throughout the supply chain and to ensure material availability within the supply chain. This role involves developing and implementing short-term strategic initiatives, collaborating with functional teams, as well as optimizing inventory levels to meet production schedules and customer demand.
Assist in the development of plans, processes, presentations, and procedures as required in the execution of project delivery activities and in support of CSC, AOPS and Ship Repair project milestones.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Resolution of Routine materials issues
    • Evaluation of multiple variables to determine root cause(s) and course of action
    • Determination of action for long lead, high budget impact items;
    • Aggregation of demand requirements and assignment of supply priority
  • Routine report generation designed to proactively identify, and resolve, issues independently
    • Develops key performance indicators and utilizes the data to ensure material availability.
    • Ensures data integrity is maintained in all systems;
  • Material Planning strategic initiatives
    • Support the execution of material planning strategic improvement projects on time and on budget.
    • Support other departments such as procurement, production, planning, inbound and in-yard logistics, and other functions to deliver on zero lates and zero defects;
  • Representation of Materials team at department level daily/weekly/monthly meetings reporting on material performance
  • Resolution of complex materials issues
    • Evaluation of multiple variables to determine root cause(s) and course of action

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education, certificates, licenses, registration, and knowledge required
    • Post Secondary Degree in business administration, engineering, or related disciplines preferred
    • 3-5 years of relevant experience
    • Professional Certifications preferred, not required (CITT, SCMP, P.Log, PMP, etc.)
    • Professional level knowledge of Supply Chain and Inventory Management
