JOB DESCRIPTION
The Fire Prevention Specialist will be responsible to ensure our facility has the necessary process, procedures, and resources to prevent fires from occurring. The position will be required to ensure employees received effective training in fire prevention for their area of responsibility and ensure that all fire protection systems are properly maintained so they function properly if required.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Continually identify, rank, and mitigate or eliminate all fire hazards on site.
  • Ensure that all required operating instructions, procedures, and standards are in place to prevent fires and ensure that the employees responsible for executing them are properly trained and held accountable.
  • Ensure fire departments are prepared to respond to a fire at the site and the fire protection systems at the site are adequate and properly maintained.
  • Ensure capital projects or major modifications at the site take fire prevention into account during the design, installation, and operation of new equipment and infrastructure
  • Ensure the proper and necessary training is receive by all employees responsible for the preventing fires.
  • Perform regular surveys and audits at the facility to identify fire risks and ensure compliance with fire prevention program and standards

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education Required: Post-Secondary Education
  • Years of Experience Required: 3+ years in a manufacturing facility
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organization skills
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment and to multitask with a "Can Do" attitude
