JOB DESCRIPTION
The Project Specialist will manage a portfolio of projects directly linked to the long-term strategy of the supply chain department. Using different types of project management methodology, the project specialist will lead projects that will improve efficiency, productivity, and cost savings. The candidate will also contribute to the daily activities of the Cost Control function for the Supply Chain organization, with a focus on delivering positive business results. This includes establishing & improving business processes designed to improve reliability and accuracy of the Supply Chain Material EAC. This role will ensure that incurred costs are captured in the ISI financial system in a timely and accurate fashion, as well as change management, project forecasting & reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading the implementation of supply chain initiatives
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify and evaluate opportunities, identify issues, trends, frame analytic solutions and drive results
  • Collect, scope, prioritize and conduct business case analyses for improvement opportunities in line with Supply Chain Strategy
  • Analyze data output from Supply Chain operations, performance KPIs, cost and be able to present data in a way that both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Review and analyze all project activities, factoring risks, achieved performance and other variables to anticipate recurrent forecasts
  • Perform cost analysis that aims at improving production and reducing risk contributing to the overall project success
  • Compile and Review cost reports, which may also include review of all cost calculations and journal entries in order to resolve variances
  • Lead daily management activities, including Purchase Order approvals, forecast review and vendor historical analysis. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of deliverables
  • Manage the project changes from a cost perspective
  • Documenting all changes and managing budgets according to approved changes
  • Document, communicate and monitor procedures
  • Develop and deliver new reporting formats and methods to match the needs of an evolving project scope

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:
    • The successful candidate must have a Bachelors' degree with a focus on business administration, accounting, finance, engineering, or project management
  • Experience:
    • 2-5 years of project management experience
    • Experience in shipbuilding, construction or manufacturing is an asset
    • Experience with AVEVA or any other relevant ERP or MRP systems

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
