JOB DESCRIPTION
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with Atlantic Canadian experts in real estate, legal, engineering, construction, finance, and property management. You will get to make your mark on one of the interesting real estate portfolios in Atlantic Canada with assets in almost every class including industrial, office, retail/commercial and large scale residential. In the process you will have exposure to numerous enterprises spanning the food, retail, forestry, transportation & distribution, construction, marine, and consumer products sectors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Continue the advancement of proactive preventive maintenance programs (buildings & grounds) on a real estate scope of >10 Million Square feet.
• Set and achieve continuous improvement plans for systematically lowering energy usage, using energy management best practices, leveraging incentives and investment in technology.
• Provide day-to-day leadership and direction of physical real estate buildings & grounds and related services to support efficient functioning, through small group of centralized staff.
• Set short-, mid- and long-term targets, implement initiatives, regularly review results and monitor operational performance metrics to ensure on-going efficiency and cost effectiveness of services.
• Plan and lead major end of life equipment replacements (HVAC, fire systems, elevators, etc.) identified by proactive maintenance inspection and assessment programs.
• Provide oversight of planning to meet current and future needs through space planning, renovations, and expansion.
• Oversee compliance to work orders and preventative maintenance plans.
• Ensures Facilities employees and contractors comply with local regulations, property and customer safety policies as well as any other compliance obligations.
• Ensures universal accessibility is addressed in all projects in support of continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee vendor negotiations in collaboration with Procurement department.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering Building Systems, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in similar roles.
- Demonstrated experience improving processes to drive practical business outcomes.
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills with a proven track record of managing financial requirements, deadlines, and priorities.
- Building and fostering positive relationships with all stakeholders, internal and external.
- Ability to work appropriately with sensitive and private information.
