Irving, Limited is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Student to join CFM for Winter 2025! RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lean Six Sigma training - Learn and apply lean manufacturing processes.
  • Project management - Gain experience with project management tools and processes, including Six Sigma and Gantt Charts.
  • Mechanical project estimation - Assist in estimating mechanical or fabrication projects.
  • Drafting and design - Use various software to draft and design components.
  • Procurement support - Help the procurement team with purchasing materials.
  • Production planning - Get involved in planning and scheduling production activities.
  • ERP and analytics training - Utilize company ERP systems, dashboards, and data analytics for operational insights.
  • Health & Safety exposure - Participate in inspections, interventions, and embrace CFM's safety culture.
  • Mentorship and job shadowing - Establish mentor relationships and shadow professionals on job sites and at various facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled - You must be enrolled in a Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering program.
  • Interest in manufacturing - A background in manufacturing, welding, or metallurgy is a plus.
  • Project management skills - A desire to develop skills in project management and lean methodologies.
  • Attention to detail - Strong skills in interpreting engineered drawings and multitasking in a dynamic environment.
  • Eagerness to learn - You bring excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills, with a great attitude and eagerness to learn.
