JOB DESCRIPTION
We are currently seeking applications for the Signal Maintainer.
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspecting and maintaining flasher apparatus, wiring, installation of crossing protection systems, and wayside detection systems.
• Complete regular inspections of these systems per Transport Canada regulations
• Trouble shooting any problems with circuitry, wiring, etc. related to railway crossings.
• Participating in crossing upgrade projects.
• Some physical labor required in maintaining crossings (digging/painting/brush cutting/etc.).
• High commitment to safe working procedures while adhering to all regulations and company procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of electricity, reading circuitry/blueprints and the use of meters is essential.
• Post secondary education in an electrical or related field is an asset.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Valid Driver's license.
• Must be able to perform physical work outdoors.
• Must be flexible with working hours, including evenings and weekends.
• This position is part of scheduled "on call" rotation.
• Must be able to travel to various locations and be able to cross the border.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings is an asset.
• Previous railroad experience is an asset.
