About the Job:

The summer student position of Hospice Food Services Assistant supports the food service/kitchen activities of Hospice SENB's residential hospice that prepares and serves meals in a palliative care setting. You will communicate with clinical staff to fully understand patient needs related to their food service requirements. Assist in weekly menu planning while being mindful of each patient's respective needs. Support the clinical team by delivering meals to palliative patient rooms. Maintain a clean kitchen environment that contributes to effective operations in compliance with all regulatory standards. Apply culinary training and/or kitchen/food services experience in your day-to-day work. Collaborate closely with other team members and cross-functional colleagues. Be organized, efficient, and capable of operating commercial kitchen equipment. Other duties as required.

  • Be a high school student entering grade 10, 11, or 12 in September 2024; OR
  • Be a full-time Grade 12, university or college student in the current academic year of 2023-2024 AND attending a post-secondary institution full-time in the fall of 2024.
