About Our OpportunityAs the Junior Data Analyst student, you will gain practical experience and receive training and mentorship from highly qualified public service professionals. There may also be an opportunity for you to participate in and collaborate with various staff on special projects.
Primary AccountabilitiesYou will assist staff with a wide range of data analysis support, dashboards and contribute to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the Department by:
- Assisting Senior Data analyst in creating and implementing Power BI dashboards
- Research and implement optimal methods to make dashboards interactive
- Software testing and troubleshooting.
You must be a 3rd or 4th-year undergraduate student, enrolled in a computer science or related degree program (such as software engineering, information technology, data analytics, or other engineering streams.)
To be successful in this role, you also have:
- Experience working with dashboards (Power BI or Tableau)
- Experience in designing User Interfaces.
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Knowledge of coding in SQL and/or python is considered an asset
- Experience in data analysis, problem solving and statistics would be considered an asset
- Normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day in a comfortable office environment.
- Much of the time is spent in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about.
- Regularly reads and interprets multiple sources of information, regular requirement to type, read and work on a computer.
- May experience pressure with deadlines and need for accuracy.
This summer student opportunity has an anticipated end date of August 31, 2025.

Pay Grade: HOURLY
Salary Range: $22.15 - $24.43 Hourly
