Reporting to the Magnum Infrastructure Operations Manager and under the direction of the MI Supervisor, the Equipment Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining compactor units, Skid-steers, performing shop maintenance and supporting the infrastructure business. This position will also be expected to support other service lines in the off season. This position is considered to be a safety-sensitive position.
Job Responsibilities
Operations
- Operate heavy equipment such as, dozers, reclaimers, packers, agricultural tractors, skid steers in an earthworks environment (i.e. base work, road construction, pad construction)
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment
- Follow all safety protocols and site-specifc guidelines.
- Assist with loading and un-loading of equipment and materials
- Work with the site Supervisor to complete projects efficiently
- Maintain equipment logs, safety information, and maintenance records using mobile app(s)
General
- Participate in training and development activities.
- Other related duties as required.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Required:
- A valid driver's license (non-graduated) with a clean driver's record.
- Physically capable of moving/lifting heavy objects up to 23 kg., bending, standing, and climbing repeatedly for extended periods.
- Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time and in all types of weather conditions.
- Willing to travel for assignments, for up to two weeks at a time. Accommodations will be provided.
- Able to work long hours on a 15 days on, 6 days off schedule, including overtime and travel up to two weeks at a time.
- Legally eligible to work in the country the role is based out of.

- Interest in getting a Class 1 (Canada) / class A CDL (U.S.) license and progressing within the organization.
