What is the opportunity?
Our team requires an intelligent and imaginative student to assist with the daily profit and loss reporting, product valuation and risk monitoring activities performed by the Product Control team. You would play an integral role in such things as streamlining current processes, creating presentations, and documenting valuation methodologies; all of which would help maintain operational effectiveness.
What will you do?
Conduct profit and loss analysis and financial reporting
Act as the primary point of contact for all front office queries and issues and monitor, track, and complete tasks in a timely fashion
Inform senior management of any irregularities that may present potential exposure to the firm
Develop an understanding of RBC operations and the functions of various business units across the firm
- Identify opportunities to improve valuation and risk reports and pro-actively streamline processes to improve productivity
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Currently in a registered co-op program at a post-secondary institution
Computer Science & Finance combination courses
Going into your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th work term
- Accounting knowledge or experience
Nice-to-have
Excellent Excel Skills (macros is an asset)
An understanding of derivatives products
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to work effectively and reliably under pressure
Please note:
In order to be eligible for these student positions, you must either:
- Be returning back to school after the work term end-date; or
- If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully
