Job Description
Capital Markets and Treasury Services (collectively known as Wholesale businesses) on a combined basis generates over $9 Billion dollars of revenue per year. The nature and size of the Wholesale businesses require high frequency, accurate and insightful financial reporting and analysis. In this role, you will support monthly and quarterly analysis of consolidated Wholesale Finance results, controls and governance initiatives in addition to prepare communication and presentation for all ongoing initiatives.
Support controls and governance related initiatives including:
Survey activities to identify areas of improvement
Facilitate improvements to the standard of documentation policy Contribute to accounting standards review and preparation of operational/accounting guidance
Assist with monthly/quarterly financial reporting and analysis for Capital Markets and Treasury Services
Participate in the month-end and quarter-end close and financial disclosure reporting
Engage in monthly tax calculation and reporting
Assist with the user acceptance testing for new IT development work on an ad-hoc basis
Improve and automate existing disclosure template and processes
Build communication and presentations for existing and new initiatives Conduct market research, competitive analysis and benchmarking for current and new requirements and new accounting methodologies
Assist with ad-hoc projects as directed by Senior Management .
Must-have
Currently enrolled in a registered co-op program
Available for a 8 month term
Strong attention to detail
Organizational skills
Nice-to-have
Knowledge of financial accounting
Interest in pursuing CPA or CFA designation
Knowledge of VBA is an asset
Please note:
In order to be eligible for these student positions, you must either:
- Be returning back to school after the work term end-date; or
- If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully
