Reporting to the Manager of Business Intelligence, the Data Science Summer Student will be working in a team environment contributing to the Advanced Analytics Initiatives. Primary responsibility involves:
- Identify and perform exploratory data analysis on the ML uses cases
- Explore external data sources relevant to the organization and provide recommendations
- Support other BI and AI/ML initiatives within the organization
Over the summer, you will develop a level of familiarity with all AFSC programs and processes, while gaining experience with the data and its business use.
Candidate should be either enrolled in, registered to attend, or attending a post-secondary institution in the fall of 2025 within computer science, mathematics or data science programs and must possess a strong analytical and programming skills.
- Preference will be given to those with experience in the data science
- Preference will be given to those with prior experience in python
- Experience in the statistical software specifically SAS will be considered as an asset
- Experience and understanding of geospatial data will be an asset.
- Experience in agricultural industry will be considered an asset.
