Are you looking to make an impact, lead an award-winning team, and accelerate your learning? As a Marketing Intern at General Mills, you are a key contributor to our brands, innovation, and culture. In our Marketing Intern role, you will be entrusted to propel Canadian-unique ideas forward, strategize for future growth, and problem solve on iconic brands like Cheerios, Yoplait, Nature Valley, and Old El Paso. At General Mills, you will have the power to ignite change in a culture that fosters creativity and new ideas – where you will be given the autonomy to make it happen.

Throughout the recruiting process we look for students with exceptional potential to do the following:

Make an Impact

In the Marketing Intern role, you will learn how to leverage all 4Ps to grow your brand, improve the lives of millions of Canadians, and watch your ideas come to life in stores across the country. At General Mills, we strive to be a Force for Good in everything we do - whether it's bringing the consumer voice to the table to develop the newest school snack with benefits parents feel good about, or by volunteering to serve breakfast at a local school in need. Beyond making food people love, we build National brands with a purpose, focusing on causes that matter to our consumers – reminding parents to Cherish the Good with Cheerios, celebrating the 'Weird Good' movement with Pizza Pops, and encouraging families to rediscover the joy of nature with Nature Valley.

Lead a Team

Become a world-class leader as you inspire and motivate your cross-functional team to achieve a shared vision and build our popular brands. As a Marketing Intern, you will lead diverse, multi-disciplinary teams to develop, plan, and execute Canadian-specific strategies to drive growth for your brands. You will influence brand strategies and new product development while honing your project management skills and execution mastery. Team and project leadership will allow you the opportunity to sharpen your executive presence as you navigate challenges and ambiguity with a growth mindset.

Accelerate Your Learning

Develop into a strategic innovator, business manager, and team leader from hands-on experience, training (i.e., Nielsen analytics), mentorship programs and visibility to General Mills senior leadership throughout our organization. Build your critical thinking and problem-solving skills, while learning how to influence and lead a team. Push us to try new things as we strive to become the most innovative food company in North America. Advance your personal and professional development with our ongoing learning and development tools and resources designed to help you boldly build brands, relentlessly innovate, unleash our scale, and be a force for good. Marketing Interns can continuously sharpen their skill set and advance their career across a variety of distinct career paths, developing the fundamental leadership, strategic and brand building skills that make General Mills employees highly respected in the global business community.

The culture at General Mills is what sets this opportunity apart from any other, and enables Marketing Interns to grow, thrive and unlock their potential as business leaders. Perhaps most importantly, we have a singularly fun-loving culture grounded by a team of smart, inspiring, and supportive people who embrace and cultivate a culture of diversity, and inclusivity. We look forward to having you join us in both the fun and play that makeup our everyday.
