Role Overview:

The Project Manager role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the successful execution of projects at Olympic International. In this role, you will oversee and facilitate various project aspects, from initial planning to fiscal management, communication, quality assurance, and project closure. Your coordination and meticulous attention to detail ensures that projects run smoothly, meeting timelines and exceeding customer expectations. Your role contributes to maintaining strong relationships with contractors and improving project processes, enhancing the company's reputation and success in the industry.

Responsibilities:

The following is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities of this role. The tasks and time spent performing each task may vary as business needs require. Olympic International maintains the right to modify job duties and responsibilities at its discretion. The range of specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Plans, organizes, directs, controls, and evaluates projects from start to finish according to the schedule, specifications, terms, and budget.
  • Plans, monitors, and tracks progress based on set schedules and milestones, responsibly allocates resources, and coordinates activities with all involved parties.
  • Builds strong, trust-based relationships with clients and subcontractors to foster collaboration among stakeholders.
  • Applies critical thinking skills to address challenges that may arise during the project lifecycle, including monitoring deliverables and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Efficiently plan and oversee meetings.
  • Collaborates effectively with the Engineering Sales Team.
  • Implements rigorous document version control practices to keep information organized, up-to-date, and easily accessible.
  • Ensures the prompt completion and review of shop drawings, including crucial technical details.
  • Manages financial resources in a responsible, transparent, and accurate manner, including handling proper commission splits, addressing overdue accounts, and ensuring project closure.
  • Converts jobs to projects in Business Central, uses technical tools and software programs in day-to-day operations.
  • Visits sites during various stages of the project lifecycle to ensure correct installation, proper equipment application, and to prevent/address on-site issues.
  • Establishes work priorities, ensuring procedures are followed, conducting administrative activities, and maintaining ethical standards.
  • Assists with the preparation of bid packages, quotations, and tender proposals.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.
Skills and Competencies:

Required

  • Demonstrated success in managing and overseeing projects of various scales from start to finish with a focus on budget management, productivity, and meeting stakeholder deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of project planning methodologies and tools.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications (Work, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Business Central, and Microsoft Dynamics Sales).
  • Experience in budgeting and fiscal management, including knowledge of cost estimation and tracking.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and internal teams.
  • Strong ability to address client concerns, provide hands-on support, address risks, and implement corrective measures.
  • Ability to read and interpret HVAC technical drawings and specifications.
  • Possesses superior organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Applies analytical skills to break projects down into tasks and sub-tasks and pays attention to detail.
  • Is an adaptive learner, eager to develop their skills and ensure that projects meet all requirements.
  • Preference may will be given to those candidates with HVAC industry experience.
  • Knowledge of construction terminology and relevant building codes and regulations is considered an asset.
Educational Requirements:

Education, Licenses and/or Certification, Experience Required

  • Proven experience (3-5 years) in a Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or related role.
  • A degree or diploma in Engineering, Project Management or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
