The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is the largest school board in Eastern Ontario and offers students and parents a world of choice for learning. Our schools are teaching communities where principals, vice-principals, teachers and support staff nurture student well-being and challenge students to achieve their best.

Casual Office Support List

$16.55 per hour (plus 4% in lieu of vacation)

Casuals may be called to replace absence staff, to assist during peak periods throughout the school year, or help with special projects. Assignments can last anywhere from 1 day to several weeks or months, depending on the need.

Casuals may also be needed to support different administrative functions, including Finance, Payroll, Facilities, Human Resources.

We are currently in need of Casuals to support the Elementary and Secondary Schools in the main office. T ypical tasks include front reception duties, assisting with safe arrivals, student and/or staff attendance support, and data entry.

Qualifications

  • Flexibility to accept assignments on an as-needed basis (sometimes on short notice) throughout the school year.
  • available during the day - full or half-days (Monday to Friday)
  • Office administration skills and experience, or experience working in a school environment.
  • Professional training/diploma (ex. Finance, Payroll, and Human Resources) is an asset.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and ability to use Google applications (including email, docs, sheets, etc).
  • bookkeeping skills is an asset.

INTERVIEW PROCESS:

Interviews have moved to digital platform, using Interview Stream software. An electronic video file will be sent to qualified applicants with pre-recorded interview questions. Candidates will have a specified period of time to video-record their responses and submit them to the OCDSB for review.
