I am currently working with a client who is a key innovator in the wireless semiconductor space. They are developing cutting-edge RF and mixed-signal solutions for next-generation communication systems, with applications spanning across IoT and beyond.
They are now seeking to appoint an experienced RF IC Technical Team Leader to guide and mentor a growing team of engineers, drive technical direction, and take ownership of complex RF IC development programmes from concept through to production.
This is a leadership role with both hands-on and strategic responsibilities, well-suited to someone who enjoys combining technical depth with team development and cross-functional collaboration.
Key responsibilities of the RF IC Technical Team Leader include:
- Leading a team of RF and mixed-signal IC designers, providing technical direction, mentoring, and performance feedback
- Defining and overseeing RF IC architecture and block-level design for products targeting low-power and high-performance applications
- Driving project planning and resource allocation in collaboration with programme managers and wider engineering teams
- Taking ownership of RF design flows, methodologies, and toolchain improvements to enhance design efficiency and quality
- Ensuring successful silicon implementation, validation, and production ramp-up, in close coordination with layout, test, and packaging teams
- Representing the RF IC team in both internal and external technical reviews
Key experience and requirements:
- A strong track record in RF IC design and development, ideally within CMOS or SOI technologies
- Deep expertise in the design and leadership of RF blocks such as LNAs, PAs, mixers, VCOs, PLLs, and synthesisers
- A solid understanding of analogue/mixed-signal design flows, simulation tools, and verification methodologies
- Prior experience leading small to mid-sized technical teams or mentoring junior engineers
- Strong project and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to balance technical priorities against programme timelines
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
