HR Project Partners is currently accepting resumes for a Specialist Machine Learning Developer on behalf of one of our clients. We're looking for self-starting team members with data engineering, full-stack, or product development experience who are keen to join our small, tight-knit Analytics team. This position is located in Montreal, QC.
Essential Job Functions:
- Collaborate with ML-Ops and Data teams to transform data science algorithms into production-grade products;
- Design, build, and maintain machine learning pipelines for diverse industrial data sources;
- Conduct technical spikes and exploratory work to guide the ML Engineering and Operations roadmap;
- Promote and share team practices, culture, and technical approaches across the organization;
- Engage cross-functionally with teams such as Industrial Systems, Safety, Ethics, and Cybersecurity to ensure integrated solutions;
- Mentor and support the development of emerging developers and data scientists across the business;
- Participate in cross-functional product teams composed of Developers, Scientists, Product Owners, Delivery Professionals, and end-users, typically in 3-6 month deployment cycles;
- Take end-to-end ownership of the ML solution lifecycle - from problem definition and data/system discovery to implementation and delivery;
- Deliver high-impact Proof of Concepts (POCs) and Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) that build momentum for long-term adoption and industrial-scale development; and
- Actively contribute to the evolution of team practices in engineering, model lifecycle management, software quality, and peer review processes.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Diverse technical backgrounds are welcome - our Client values unique career paths and multidisciplinary experiences;
- Previous experience contributing to or building applications, backend systems, or data platforms at any scale;
- A collaborative mindset, strong motivation, curiosity, and problem-solving instincts are as important as technical skill;
- Exposure to or interest in data engineering, machine learning, or AI is a strong asset; we also support those eager to grow in these areas;
- Formal education or equivalent experience in any of the following areas is highly regarded: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics;
- Comfort or familiarity with data handling across various types and workflows;
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure and cloud tools is beneficial;
- Familiarity with modern development tools and environments; and
- Fluency in French and English.
