ICE Dragon is looking for a confident, humble senior corrosion engineer to start as soon as possible!

We are frequently on-site to carry out hands-on assessments that diagnose concerns both at the physical asset and enterprise level. We work closely with our client teams, so they can strategically adopt corrosion best practices and technology to reduce the associated business risks in their operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Field corrosion audits / inspections
  • Risk assessments and analysis of corrosion data
  • Provision of engineered solutions
  • Coordination and planning support for corrosion project implementation
  • Collaboration with multiple stakeholders
  • Materials / coating selection / reviews
  • Proposal support
  • Specification writing
  • Design and analysis of asset failures
  • Writing technical reports
  • Presenting findings to clients
  • Client outreach through involvement in events/networking

About You:

You have an excellent university background in materials or chemical engineering and at least 5 years' experience in a directly related field. Work experience that is client-facing with significant operational in-field experience is an asset. Experience or formal training in corrosion / coatings / inspections / NDT is also considered an asset.

You will confidently carry out site work at client locations as required, leading onsite projects, collaborating with multiple stakeholders. You will develop specialist corrosion technical work to a high degree of competency, including but not limited to coating selection/specifications, material selection, failure analysis, designing and undertaking inspections and analysing corrosion data. Training will be provided for strong candidates who require it.

You carry out high quality, timely report writing and can present findings to any level of stakeholder. You enjoy working with different people and want to learn and pass on your knowledge to team members and clients. You are comfortable with multi-tasking, project management, task prioritisation and have disciplined self-management. You have strong English language skills. Conversational level French at a minimum will be required for this role, and further language training can be provided if required.

Homebase is expected to be at the ICE office in Toronto where you will be expected in the office a minimum of 3 days a week, however this location requirement is flexible, as travel is expected in this role up to 25% of your time.

Salary range starts at CAD 95,000 annually and will depend on experience. A 10% discretionary bonus will be offered based on the annual performance of the company.
