We are looking for a dedicated Accessibility Quality Assurance Tester to join our team in Toronto. This hybrid role requires you to be onsite twice a week, allowing you to collaborate closely with our talented team while also enjoying the flexibility of remote work.
As an Accessibility Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our digital products comply with WCAG 2.0 AA standards and provide an inclusive experience for all users. You will use a variety of evaluation tools and assistive technologies to perform both automated and manual testing, meticulously recording and reporting your findings.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate digital products to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.0 AA (required by the AODA).
- Perform accessibility tests using evaluation tools and assistive technologies as needed.
- Conduct manual testing as needed.
- Record results of all testing activities.
- Provide detailed reporting as needed.
- Follow established Teranet quality standards, processes, and practices.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in QA, web, and accessibility testing in a medium to large organization.
- Expert knowledge of WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 AA requirements.
- Professional accessibility training or certification.
- Proven experience working with WAI-ARIA authoring guidelines and best practices.
- Proven experience working with accessible design best practices.
- Proven experience working with web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Proven experience using accessibility evaluation tools and frameworks (e.g., Axe, MS Accessibility Insights, WAVE, Developer Tools).
- Proven experience using assistive technologies (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver).
