Job Title: Detail Designer
Location: Halifax, NS
Salary: $62,250 - $79,397
What you'll be doing:
Create accurate blueprints and schematics for manufacturing, ensuring compliance with design standards and specifications
Collaborate with Structural, Outfit, and Piping teams to ensure design accuracy, regulatory compliance, and alignment with project objectives
Tackle complex design challenges, ensuring that ship systems integrate seamlessly and meet safety and operational standards
Participate in inspections and testing to verify design accuracy and performance, ensuring all systems meet technical specifications and quality standards
Ensure the quality and performance of your work by following the Detail Design Quality Management Policy
Identify and analyze quality issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions to enhance design efficiency, reduce errors, and improve overall work quality
Interpret and communicate design requirements, progress, and challenges with Team Leads and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and clear understanding across the project
Your skills and experiences:
Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, CATIA)
Hands-on experience in designing ship structures, piping systems, or outfit designs
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate across teams

The Detail Design team:
As a Detail Designer, you will manage design tasks related to ship structures, piping systems, or outfit designs. You will create 3D models and 2D technical drawings for ship components (structural elements, piping, or outfit systems) using CAD software. You will be working closely with various teams in Canada and the UK to ensure the accuracy, safety, and quality of designs.
