Location: This role is based in GTA / Toronto / Anywhere within Canada (100% / Fully Remote role) Work is based on EST time zone

Start Date: End of April / Beginning of May 2025

Pay Rate: 80$ - 95$ Incorporated + HST

60$ - 75$ on T4

Job Description (Must - have Skills):

We are looking for a Mainframe Network Systems Programmer with below skillsets:

We are seeking a Mainframe Network Systems Programmer for a host Network Support position. This role functions, in a global team providing services to a client with multi-protocol complex environments. The selected candidates will interact frequently with clients, vendors and management to ensure high level of satisfaction. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• 8 - 10+ years overall relevant experience
• Acting as a resource and point of escalation for global team members.
• Engaging in identifying, analyzing and resolving complex problems on z/OS host networks.
• providing planning and recommendations for changes on hardware and software components for the z/OS network.
• Utilizing z/OS communications server and other products perform configuration and customization of IBM and ISV mainframe network software.
• Supporting project management with implementation of network software upgrades, including testing and implementation with network service provider, application teams, and internal support teams.
• Disaster recovery, planning and execution of tests, including client access to DR systems during production network services.
• Compliance and security, ensure mainframe network environment complies with security rules agreed by our company and client.
• Performing level 3 problem solving and troubleshooting.
• Can act in a leadership role for the global team on global projects on teams that impact the host network.

Required Professional and Technical Expertise:

• At least 5+ years experience performing z/OS system support / programming along with host network experience.
• Demonstrated skills in z/OS network systems programming in a multi-LPAR Sysplex environment: Communication server VTAM: SNA, APPN, Enterprise Extender, Subarea routing, Logmode tables.
• Communication Server TCP / IP: OSA, OSPF, zOSMF, DVIPA, DDVIPA.
• Network Security: PAGENT, SSL / TLS, Configuration Assistant, SSH.
• Network Monitoring: (one or more) NetView, CA - NetMaster, OMEGAMON for Networks.
• File Transfer (Two or more): Connect: Direct, CA-XCOM, ftp(s), SFTP, NetView FTP, Co:Z, Tectia.
• Session Managers (One or more): CA-TPX, CL-Supersession, NetView Access Services, Teleview, VTAM / Switch.
• Print Products: CA-Spool, IBM Infoprint, VPS
• Diagnostic skills are a must, including the ability to interpret job and task logs, syslogs, and traces.
• Ability to train and coach junior team members and build proficient network skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects and accounts.

Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise:

• Experience with REXX, CList, or NCL scripting language is a plus
• Experience with z/VM, RSCS, and Vswitch is a plus.
