MedTech Volunteer Advisor

Are you passionate about the intersection of technology and healthcare? Do you have experience in digital health or life sciences? Invest Ottawa is seeking volunteer mentors to guide early-stage MedTech startups as they build and scale their businesses.

As a MedTech Mentor, you will guide startups developing life sciences and digital health innovations that advance healthcare, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, telemedicine, wearable devices, and health data analytics. Whether you're a seasoned entrepreneur or industry expert, your knowledge can help startups avoid common pitfalls and navigate the challenges of building a healthcare-focused business.

We would love to hear from you if you:

1. Have previous or current experience in a leadership role (Founder, C-level, VP, Director) at a technology company, ideally in a digital health or life sciences company.
2. Possess the ability to quickly assess challenges faced by MedTech startups and provide on-the-spot guidance and support.
3. Have strong emotional intelligence with an ability to build trusting relationships, and strong communication skills (especially as a great listener).
4. Have demonstrated experience as a leader, advisor, expert and/or mentor and can provide references and details of your experience in your profile.
5. Are passionate about giving back to the Ottawa startup community and supporting the next generation of MedTech innovators.

Please note: This is an unpaid position, and these hours are not guaranteed (will depend on client demand each month). Due to the volume of applications, only candidates who have been selected will be contacted.
