POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This warm seniors' residence is currently seeking an Assistant to the Healthcare Manager.

Full-time contract position, 37.5 hours per week, days/evenings, every other weekend.

ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as an intermediary for various external stakeholders (doctors, pharmacists, CLSC, CISSS/CIUSSS, etc.)
  • Administer medication according to safety principles and the code of ethics
  • Collaborate in maintaining the bond of trust with the families or loved ones of the residents as well as with the various stakeholders (CLSC, CSSS, etc.)
  • Collaborate in the follow-up of the medical file, occasionally appointments and prescriptions of the resident
  • Comply with standards and laws in accordance with the certification of private residences for seniors and the code of ethics
  • Contribute to the adjustment and development of the residents' intervention plan through their observations
  • Follow up on residents' medical files and prescriptions at the request of the doctor, pharmacist or CISSS
  • Record notes in residents' files in accordance with the requirements of the Order of Nurses and Auxiliary Nurses of Quebec (OIIAQ) and keep them rigorously up to date
  • Respect and promote proactive care for residents
  • To provide a range of nursing care and treatments for the purpose of maintaining health, restoring health, and preventing disease
  • Work closely with the Head of Health Services

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A proffesional studies dimploma (DEP) in health care assistance, nursing
  • At lease 3 to 5 years of experience in nursing with a minimum of 1 year in administration
  • Member of the OIIAQ or the or OIIQ
  • Ease in the use of computer tools
  • Nursing Management Experience
  • Discretion and respect for confidentiality
  • Knowledge of retirement homes, a major asset
