As a key member of the Private Wealth Management (PWM) and Wood Gundy Leadership team, the Managing Director, Wealth Solutions contributes to the overall CIBC Private Wealth Management and Wood Gundy vision and strategy development and facilitates the realization of the strategy. The MD, Wealth Solutions, is accountable to set the strategy and execute on world class investment solutions for the Wood Gundy and Private Wealth platform. The role leads a group of professionals to deliver premium investment solutions to CIBC clients on a national scale. The leader will also be responsible for regulatory and compliance duties associated with leading a diverse group of sales and product professionals.
What You'll be Doing

Contribute to the growth and profitability of the business through the development and implementation of a national product and sales strategy that will generate national sales results and focus on increasing and retaining assets under management, market share, and profits.

Working closely with the CIBC PWM and Wood Gundy leadership team to set the strategy and deliver execution of world class investment and wealth solutions for the entire Wood Gundy and Private Wealth platform (Wood Gundy, CPIC, Trust, and Private Banking).

Responsible for regulatory oversight, strategies and leadership of professionals who develop and execute a National Product and Sales strategy. These include the development of innovative products, strategic pricing and technology project management. Alongside the Wood Gundy and PWM executive team, support the implementation of sales strategies by developing existing sales channels, identifying new opportunities for client acquisition and the continued development of the Wood Gundy/CIBC Bank referral programs & supporting Insurance and Trust.

Provide strategic oversight over key transformational programs/projects impacting the Private Wealth and Wood Gundy business. Working closely with program & project delivery teams to ensure successful implementation and execution, as well as alignment with business strategy.

Build and maintain effective partnerships with other business lines as a means to implement referral agreements and enhance the client experience.

Extensive collaboration with the Line of Business (LOB) leadership teams within PWM, Asset Management, Commercial Banking, Capital Markets and cross-enterprise units for Technology, Risk, Compliance, Treasury and Operations.

Fulfill business and due diligence requirements as it relates to the review, approval and maintenance of all 3rd party investment funds and alternative investment offerings at CIBC Wood Gundy.

Ensure the ongoing development and delivery of relevant management information reporting.

Contribute to thought leadership in critical areas through membership on the CIBC Private Wealth Management and Wood Gundy leadership team.

Ensure acquisition, succession, transition, development and retention plans are in place for key positions within the region and Wealth Management Services Group. Lead and be directly involved in the acquisition, development and retention of key talent.

Maintain regulatory responsibility that includes Chair of the Investment Strategy Committee, Managed Accounts Committee, and Responsible Person to Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO).
What We're Looking For

Successful completion of Canadian Securities Course or Chartered Financial Analyst designation is required and CIMA designation would be an asset.

Strong knowledge of equity and capital markets is required.

8-10 years of experience in the wealth management business.

In-depth knowledge of retail brokerage business and the ability to converse knowledgeably with Investment Advisors, Portfolio Managers and other key contacts about roles of quantitative and performance analysis, awareness of markets and industry issues and other pertinent topics.

Proven ability to identify business opportunities and implement successful strategies.

Awareness of business issues, processes, and outcomes as they impact Wood Gundy and clients.

Advanced knowledge of strategic, business and planning processes.

Strong leadership and relationship management skills.

Superior communication and presentation skills.

Well-developed influencing skills with strong business acumen.

Previous experience in product development and implementation is required.
