Management

  • Develop a business plan and sales and marketing strategy for the Canadian market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
  • Collect and compile intelligence, regulatory and competitive market and customer data so that strategies and products can be developed to ensure that customer needs are met and to increase market share.
  • Develop leadership competencies and foster an environment that results in an appropriate risk-taking, energetic, collaborative, accountable, and results oriented workforce.
  • Develop productivity programs to enhance field sales performance.
  • Select, train, evaluate and develop employees to assure optimum motivation and retention of staff.
  • Lead the financial planning process for Canada through the development of annual budget, maintenance of operating expenses and continuous improvement in support of the company's goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement programs that assure appropriate margin levels and meet company objectives for all markets.
  • Focus on improvement of systems and processes and show ability to integrate them into the business operations in such a way that they positively impact business objectives.
  • Oversee marketing positioning, pricing, packaging, and distribution in a legal and compliant manner.
  • Ensure compliance with sales policies, review objectives, goals and programs.
  • Ensure constant focus on details of sales performance and drive necessary adjustments due to market conditions in order to drive sales results.
  • Develop and maintain key customer relationships and develop and implement strategies for expanding the company's customer base and drive results.
  • Provide an analysis of sales data to Senior Leadership, as requested.
  • Oversee sales promotional events including conventions, trade shows and seminars.
  • Promote compliance, integrity and maintain the highest standard of ethical conduct in all activities.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of sales and marketing strategies with proven ability to build and lead all facets of a Commercial function.
  • Proven success with building and leading commercial operations.
  • Proven success with launching new products to market.
  • Experience in Urology. Experience in Oncology strongly preferred, as well.
  • Experience in the Canadian markets, market access and reimbursement pathways.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven successful project management skills; strict attention to detail.
  • Drive and enthusiasm for operational improvements.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage workload independently.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required, MBA or related master's level degree is strongly preferred.
  • Fifteen years of progressive Commercial experience in the pharmaceutical industry in both large and small organizations.
