We are currently seeking a lead level Thermal Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the development of advanced spacecraft communication antennas and electronic subsystems. The successful candidate will be responsible for thermal design, analysis, and testing to ensure that products meet stringent thermal requirements for space environments.

Job Title: Thermal Engineer

Location: Montreal, QC

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thermal design and analysis for spacecraft components, including communication antennas and electronic subsystems.
  • Select and recommend appropriate thermal protection systems, active and passive thermal control hardware, surface finishes, and interfaces.
  • Predict temperature distributions and thermal loads throughout the product lifecycle, including launch, orbital transition, and in-orbit operation.
  • Provide thermal recommendations to optimize mechanical designs based on material behavior and thermal performance.
  • Plan, execute, and validate thermal environment testing to ensure product reliability and performance under required conditions.
  • Generate detailed thermal analysis and test reports.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers and other specialists to identify and implement optimal design solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Several years of experience in thermal analysis and mathematical thermal modeling (TMM), preferably using Nx Space System Thermal (or similar tools)
  • Proven experience in delivering successful spacecraft thermal designs, including antennas or subsystems.
  • Hands-on experience in planning and performing thermal testing.
  • Strong knowledge of space environments and related industry standards is a significant asset.
  • Effective collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and systems specialists.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English is preferred.
