About Lifemark's Community Occupational Therapist Position
Working in communities across Ontario, our Community Occupational Therapist treat clients with a variety of diagnosis and injuries, require support in the community both home and/or work, focusing on a return to previous level of function.
As a Community Occupational Therapist you will be engaged in a variety of different programs including
Auto Insurance working with more complex needs, assessing and treating clients with various physical, cognitive, and psychosocial impairments. You will have the opportunity to complete in-home and hospital discharge assessments, ergonomic assessments, concussion treatment, cognitive rehabilitation, mental health treatment and several other interventions. Allowing you to provide fulsome care, and guide your clients through every step of their recovery!
The workplace, working with clients to support the successful and sustainable return to work through onsite functional and cognitive functional work capacity assessments. As well as functional and cognitive job coaching. Complete job site assessments, ergonomic assessments, cognitive abilities evaluations, as well as provide workplace accommodation recommendations.
Mental health, through exposure therapy and strategies to re-integrate into the community and meaningful daily activities. The Occupational Therapist will have the opportunity to conduct in-vivo exposure therapy and behavioural activation, and facilitate trauma processing, coping and return to function.
Many of our OTs focus on one area of practice, while others prefer the variety offered by a mixed caseload.

You will be attached to a clinic, to provide you with a home base, but will service the surrounding area, providing you with flexibility to your schedule.
What do you need to succeed?
Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
Clinical experience is an asset in areas such as brain injury rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal and orthopedic injury, home safety, ergonomics and/or return to work
Willingness to provide in-vivo OT treatment in a variety of settings, including client's homes, workplaces, and/or in the community
Passion about your profession, commitment to ongoing professional development, and dedication to providing excelled client care
The ability to thrive in a self-directed and independent environment
Strong organizational skills
Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and analytic skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Empathy and an effective ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders
Experience in the private sector, particularly auto sector legislation and mental health, is an asset but not required
A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required (travel up to 1-1.5 hour radius average) paid mileage and travel time
