Occupational Therapist (OT) for Psychotherapy Trauma Program

What do you need to be successful?
You are client-centered, target co-creation, and enjoy collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
You have strong verbal/written communication skills
You use good judgement and apply critical thinking when making clinical decisions
You have demonstrated commitment to professional development

Qualifications:
You have a University Degree in Occupational Therapy
You are a member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
You have a valid Driver's Licence and access to a vehicle
A minimum of 1 year of general OT mental health experience
Completion of at least one of the following courses: CBT, ACT, DBT

What is a day in the life of a FA OT Psychotherapist?
You will assess and treat individuals experiencing complex mental health challenges ranging from PTSD, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, panic, bipolar disorder, BPD, adjustment disorder, grief and loss, and emotional overwhelm.
Many of the clients you will support are First Responders and Public Safety Personnel
You will assist clients with establishing and meeting meaningful goals within their home and in a community setting, including addressing quality of life and return to work
You will create and implement individualized treatment plans based on occupational analysis and clinical reasoning
You will liaise with WSIB and community mental health partners and rehab professionals, including Psychologists and Psychotherapists, to facilitate client goals and independence
