Description:

Shared Health and The University of Manitoba, Department of Surgery, are inviting applications for a Urologist to fill a labour shortage in Manitoba, commencing on September 1, 2024 (or on a date mutually agreed upon). Main job duties include diagnosing and treating diseases, prescribing medications and treatment, ordering lab tests and x-rays, and consulting with other physicians as required, which encompass 75% of the position. The successful candidate would also be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor and appointed as a geographical full-time member of the Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba, which encompasses 25% of the position. Job duties are required in English. The position encompasses inpatient and ambulatory patient care responsibilities and requires individuals with clinical and teaching skills to further the aims of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, and tertiary care medicine. The candidate will be expected to conduct independent research and supervise post-graduate trainees conducting research. The position will be located primarily at Health Sciences Centre, with secondary responsibility at other sites within the region.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must hold a Doctor of Medicine Degree with specialization in Urology. The candidate must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Applicants will have fellowship training in endourology and minimally invasive surgery. Clinical research is an expectation. Additional post-graduate training in education or research would be an asset. Additional skills including advanced degrees would be beneficial; a commitment to education, research and/or other academic pursuits is desirable.

Compensation:

Compensation is derived from fee-for-service income. Specialty Physicians may be eligible for a recruitment incentive. Please contact for further information.
