Island Health is hiring a temporary full-time MI-Generalist Sonographer at Port Hardy Hospital on Vancouver Island.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The planned start date for this position is November 25, 2024 and the approximate end date is November 25, 2026. Up to $20,000 signing bonus or a quarterly retention bonus up to $2,000 and relocation assistance are available to eligible candidates. Hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm (weekends off).
In this role, under the general supervision of a radiologist, you will perform general ultrasound examinations. Other responsibilities include:
receiving and completing requisitions
filling out forms and reports
preparing and monitoring supplies and equipment
monitoring patients
operating ultrasound equipment, including preparing and presenting patient data to the radiologist.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Graduation from an approved Ultrasound Technologist diploma program.
Sonography Canada and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certification credentials as a Generalist Sonographer and one year of recent, related experience in a health care setting (or equivalent).
Eligible for registration with Sonography Canada.
