We are looking to hire a pharmacist to join the community pharmacy in Norway House, Manitoba. Please note that this role may be a hybrid role that allows for community pharmacy work both in Norway House and Winnipeg.

Norway House Pharmacy is located in the Kistapinanihk Mall in Norway House, Manitoba and provides comprehensive, accessible, and responsive pharmaceutical care and consultative services tailored to the community's health care needs.

Norway House Pharmacy's understanding of the local health care programs, networks and resources, allows us to effectively serve the needs of NHCN community members within their home community.

The pharmacy team in Norway House consists of multiple pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, delivery drivers, and other support staff making for a large collaborative team.

Hours of Operation / Shift Requirements:

The pharmacy is open 9:00am to 5:00pm and is closed from 1:00pm - 2:00pm for lunch each day. The pharmacy is open Monday - Friday and closed for all local and stat holidays throughout the year.

Additional Position Details:

Compensation: Minimum $90/hr, however a competitive compensation package TBD (experience and education taken into consideration)

Pharmacist Duties and Responsibilities include:
Comply with (and keep informed of) all government standards and regulations applicable to the pharmacy and ensure staff are trained on regulatory and legal requirements.
Implement business strategies that support our goals and guiding statements of the company.
Support other staff members in the pharmacy by working as part of a collaborative team while maintaining a positive work environment.
Deliver a high standard of usual pharmacy functions including preparation and checking of prescriptions to ensure proper procedures have been followed ensuring accurate preparation and counselling of medication.
Will advise patients and give them proper directions for taking prescription drugs, supplements, and over-the-counter medications.
Will administer immunizations and vaccines to patients, following all safety and cleanliness procedures.
Will follow controlled substance and narcotic protocols in accordance with provincial and federal standards of practice.
Consult with physicians and medical staff on proper medication dosages and address prescription errors.
Will follow all opening and closing procedures for the pharmacy.
Will understand medication ordering and inventory control.
Will ensure that all employees, including themselves, maintain all pharmacy and store protocols and procedures.

Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
Currently a licensed Pharmacist in Manitoba and in good standing with the College of Pharmacy.
Superior interpersonal skills, with a commitment to provide exceptional customer service.
Highly organized, takes initiative, and has excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
A high degree of accuracy and attention to details.
Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
Addresses and manages customer problems and complaints in compliance with College of Pharmacy standards.
Experience working with Indigenous communities an asset.
