First Credit Union is seeking a qualified individual to provide financial planning advice, support members' complex needs, and grow an existing joint book of business. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in investment sales, financial planning, and insurance solutions. Our Wealth Management team collaborates with branches, members, and the community to enhance financial literacy and improve financial health. Daily responsibilities involve engaging with members and prospects, directing referrals to our team of experts, fostering relationships with our branches and communities.
Projected earnings start at $90,000 - $130,000, including base salary ($35,000), commission payments, revenue sharing, and sales premiums. Total compensation will reflect the experience of the successful candidate.
Major Responsibilities:
- Brings extensive firsthand experience in financial planning, investment, and insurance in order to provide comprehensive and informed advice.
- Cultivates relationships with members, clients, and colleagues to foster a strong network and sense of community.
- Contributes to the growth and segmentation of joint client portfolios by actively engaging in business development.
- Proactively develops and maintains the existing book of business, ensuring sustained growth and member satisfaction.
- Adheres to the highest professional and regulatory standards at First Credit Union, maintaining a risk management culture.
- Implements holistic planning approaches, supports members, and enhances community engagement by leveraging the expertise of First Credit Union's existing team of experts, while actively referring clients as needed.
- Provides coaching and mentoring to branches where business is conducted, contributing to overall skill enhancement and success of the organization and its employees.
- Elevates brand awareness both within the organization and the broader community to strengthen the organizations presence.
- Embraces a growth mindset through continuous learning, professional development courses, and staying abreast of industry standards and trends.
Required Experience, Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:
- Advanced knowledge of Wealth Management products, services, and regulations, including life insurance.
- Post-secondary education in business or related experience.
- Three to five years of wealth management or investment advice experience.
- Completion of Industry designation (WME, CSC, PFP).
- Working towards CFP or CLU (completion within 24 months).
- IIROC or MFDA license; life insurance license considered an asset.

- Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office, Broadridge and financial planning software.

- Ability to work positively in a fast-paced environment, perform under pressure, and demonstrate a high degree of initiative, resourcefulness and flexibility.

- Proven ability to effectively work in a team and independently and from remote locations.
